UCS senior among select group earning full tuition for CMU honors program

Utica High School graduate Brooke Halliwill has been awarded a full tuition Centralis Gold scholarship to Central Michigan University.

Halliwill, a 2014 valedictorian, is among 130 students awarded the estimated $52,000 scholarship to cover tuition costs to the CMU honors program. Honors scholars comprise four percent of the CMU student body and enroll in unique special topic honors courses taught by top CMU faculty.

In addition, honors students are encouraged to enroll in global citizenship courses which include study abroad opportunities, special diversity courses and foreign language study.

Halliwill plans to study pre-medicine and chemistry.

Halliwill attended the Utica Center for Mathematics, Science and Technology. She received the UCS Superintendent's Scholarship, and was a UCS Academic Scholar and Advanced Placement Scholar with Honor.
