UCS students excel in first-ever county leadership program

Eleven Utica Community Schools students have graduated from the first-ever Junior Leadership Macomb program.

Students from each UCS high school entered the program in September and met every other Saturday to learn about different aspects of Macomb County by subject matter experts.

The goal of the program was to encourage these young leaders to take what they learned back to their peers and encourage them to become more actively involved in their community.

Students received certificates of completion at a Commencement Ceremony Sunday.

Leadership Macomb is a non-profit organization whose nine-month adult program brings together leaders from numerous institutions, disciplines and geographic areas to strengthen their leadership skills, develop long-term business relationships, and obtain in depth information about Macomb County.
