Viewfinder: Heritage Gardens Popular Destination for Wedding Photos, Appreciating Nature

Heritage Gardens in Shelby Township offers a scenic area to hold wedding ceremonies and take memorable photos.

Heritage Garden in Shelby Township was completed in the fall of 1975 as part of a Shelby Township Bicentennial Committee project. The 2 1/2-acre property boasts a spring-fed lake and is surrounded by ornate, wrought-iron fencing. The garden is available for rental for wedding ceremonies and/or photos each year from April
through October.

Several spots throughout the garden make for wonderful photos for engaged and married couples. A large deck overlooking the lake, 10 foot gazebo, scenic pathways, and a large fountain make Heritage Gardens the perfect picture destination.

Bookings for the upcoming year are accepted beginning the first business day in September. Call Shelby Parks, Recreation & Maintenance at 586-731-0300 weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. with questions regarding the use of Heritage Gardens.
