• Michigan Attorney Facing Sanctions After Citing Fake Court Cases Using AI (wjr.com) — A Southfield-based attorney is facing possible financial sanctions and a misconduct review after Michigan’s Court of Appeals found he used AI-generated legal briefs that cited non-existent cases in a medical malpractice appeal. The case is now back in Oakland County Circuit Court to determine how much he must personally reimburse the defendants’ legal fees, and could shape future standards for AI use in Michigan law practice.
