Better Weather, Boys Golf and a Solid Week Ahead

Boys golf teams play in tourney, while girls soccer and softball teams have big matchups.

Dear Mother Nature,

This crazy-weather-thing you’ve got going on here in Michigan isn’t funny anymore.

It’s making our job here at the Pick of the Week pretty difficult.

Fields are flooded, fans are frozen in the stands, and games are getting canceled left and right.

If you could, please wave your wand, wrinkle your nose or place an order with the sun (whatever it is you have to do), and send some spring-like weather our way.

This is getting ridiculous.

Sincerely,

John

Well fans, I hope that does some good.

Either way, we’ll continue to press on here at Pick of the Week and look ahead, fingers crossed that the weather turns the corner and into something that resembles spring here in the mitten-shaped state.

Before we get into what lies ahead, let’s take a second to send out some kudos to the girls soccer team from , which ousted rival , 3-0, last week.

We should also send a congrats out to the Cavs baseball squad who picked up a big, 15-11, win against Center Line last Thursday.

Now, here’s a brief look at some of the more enticing matchups this week:

  • The softball squad hosts Harper Woods High Thursday beginning at 4:30 p.m.
  • Lakeview’s girls soccer team travels to Lamphere Tuesday evening for a crucial game against the division-leading Rams.
  • South Lake and Lakeview’s boys golf teams travel to Romeo Golf Course Tuesday morning for the prestigious Evans-Gill tournament. Teams begin to tee off at 8 a.m.
