Comerica Welcomes Tigers, Expands Baseball Grant Program
The Detroit Tigers Winter Caravan stopped at Comerica Bank's new Michigan market headquarters in Detroit to visit with employees. During the rally, the bank announced an expansion of a grant program to support baseball and softball programs in Michigan.
Comerica Bank announced Friday that it would be expanding the Grand Slam Grant program, which provided $10,000 grant to a Metro Detroit high school to improve its baseball or softball program, to include central and western Michigan.
The announcement of a second $10,000 grant came before an employee rally with Detroit Tigers Jose Valverde, Doug Fister, Brennan Boesch and Max Scherzer, along with broadcaster Rod Allen. The visit was part of the Tigers Winter Caravan through Michigan.
Detroit's Renaissance High School received the first Comerica Bank’s Grand Slam Grant. The grant was used for equipment, a new scoreboard and a youth clinic.
