DIA in the Shores: Hope in the Midst of a Shipwreck
"The Wreck" is part of the Detroit Institute of Arts Inside/Out program in the Shores.
When considering works of art to display in St. Clair Shores for the Inside|Out program, it would seem appropriate for the Detroit Institute of Arts to select one with a water theme.
A digital reproduction of The Wreck has been installed on the exterior of as part of the Detroit Institute of Arts Inside|Out program, which places art reproductions throughout Metro Detroit.
While it may seem a bit depressing, the artist included a sign of hope in the painting.

"In the midst of a storm, a boat has become shipwrecked, and its passengers now scramble to safety," states a plaque displayed next to the artwork. "The tiny figures are at the mercy of the violent forces of nature. But look to the right—the artist included a patch of blue sky breaking through the dark clouds as a sign of hope to the survivors."
St. Clair Shores Patch is featuring all seven pieces of St. Clair Shores' DIA artwork this week.
