TARDEC (Tank Automotive Research Development Engineering Center) is pleased to host the September AWS Detroit Section Technical Meeting at the Ukrainian Cultural Center, Warren Michigan. Matt Rogers of the TARDEC Engineering Business Group (EGG) will be presenting on the after effects of welding armor steels due to delayed cracking. The mission of the TARDEC EBG is to provide advanced automotive engineering and related support services to DOD ground combat & combat support systems, ensuring system readiness through life cycle support of available and practical technologies. Delayed cracking on weldments with armor steels on ground combat vehicles has been a concern since the use of high strength materials.
