Miscellaneous small
electronic items will be accepted such as pda’s and cell phones, and household
small appliances including toasters, irons and telephones.  Televisions should be 32” and under,
please.  Batteries should be bagged.

“Computer Recyclers,
a Michigan
firm, will accept the collected items and will guarantee that no component will
end up in a landfill,” said Mrs. Gail Kassin, Computer Teacher and SJA Green
Team Advisor.  Electronics contain many
hazardous materials that can contaminate groundwater if placed in
landfills.  Recycling electronics
recovers valuable materials and conserves natural resources.  “People are beginning to realize the
negative impact we have made on our environment in the past and are looking for
safer alternatives, and this opportunity is providing that alternative,” said
Mrs. Kassin.

three- and four-year-old preschool.
