
Magic is afoot at the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House this summer's day as the Fairy Tale Festival tip-toes into town. The grounds and house will be alive with faerie wonder, including music, theater, activities, stories and more.
Those who attend the fair -- part of the two-month exhibit, Fairy Tale Art: Illustrations from Children's Books -- will see fairy tales brought to life on stage, and enjoy music, puppetry, folklore and stories from around the world.

- Radio Disney will be on hand to help kids make a craft to take home.
- If you love Alice in Wonderland, take some time to play croquet with the Queen of Hearts or strategize your way across a on a life-size chessboard. If that works up a hunger, visit the Mad Hatter for some refreshments and treats.
- Cinderella will be parking her carriage for youngsters and the young at heart to climb aboard and wave to their subjects.
- A petting zoo will be set up and populated with fairy tale animals, including the Three Little Pigs and Mary's lamb.
- A huge mural will be set up where kids can color a piece of it, for all to enjoy.
- Live characters will be strolling the grounds. Meet pirates, Little Red Riding Hood, fairy princesses and more.
- Enjoy a story in the shade as area educators read their favorite fairy tales to the crowds.
- Catch a performance of a Fractured Fairy Tale as the Grosse Pointe Theater performs, and enjoy classic children's songs performed by Russ Glenn.
