It's Easy for Shelby and Utica Residents to Make Holidays Brighter for Kids in Hospital

Bingham Farms-based Paragon Properties is coordinating a toy donation drive for Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation at its 16 apartment communities throughout Michigan as part of the organization’s “Snowpile” program.

As the holiday season approaches, many parents question how they will afford presents for their families. This is especially difficult for parents if their child is hospitalized at Children’s Hospital of Michigan DMC and they have been at their bedside day and night. Many don’t have time to think about gifts, let alone purchase them. The Snowpile program at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan, sponsored by Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation, has been helping to answer this question these past 12 years. Through the Snowpile program, the holiday spirit pours through the halls, allowing parents of patients in the hospital to rest a little easier during the holiday season.

From now through Dec. 15, Paragon Properties will be collecting holiday gifts to be distributed to in-patients during the holiday season. Requested donation items include a variety of gifts for newborns, children of all ages and teens up to age 18. Games, DVDs, video games, interactive toys, nail and hair care items, magazines, and even sports themed items are a few of the many gift ideas.

Financial contributions can also be made and dropped off at Paragon Properties’ apartment communities. Checks can be made out to “Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation.”
