A Macomb County high school wrestling referee is facing charges after sending inappropriate messages to a student, prosecutors said.

A Macomb County high school wrestling referee is facing charges after sending inappropriate messages to a student, according to the prosecutors office.
Stephen Livings, 43, of Roseville, was charged with accosting children for immoral purposes (7-year felony) and using a computer to commit a crime (4-year felony). He was placed in jail with a $10,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for Feb. 19.
Prosecutors said Livings was a referee for high school wrestling in Roseville when he approached a high school student and tried to obtain her social media information. They said he also asked her personal questions.

On another occasion, prosecutors said he took her phone and added his contact information. He then sent her inappropriate messages and images/videos.
The teen's parents reported the messages to Warren Police, who then arrested Livings, prosecutors said.

"The allegations in this case are disturbing. Our office takes such conduct seriously and will pursue accountability through the justice system. We remain committed to protecting the victims and safeguarding the children in our community," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
The Michigan High School Athletic Association has suspended Livings.
