"She was truly the difference in that ballgame," said Iwanicki. "She is very accurate at 35 yards and is 5-for-6 so far. Her only miss was against Royal Oak and the kick was blocked and it wasn't her fault."
On the volleyball court, Morgan is a middle hitter/blocker. Recent game highlights include eight kills and three service points against Lincoln and five kills, six service points with an ace and two blocks against East Detroit.
"Sydney is a leader on the court and off and has a great personality," Lake Shore volleyball coach Margaret Kwapisz said. "She is very funny and easy going and is always ready to help me."
Morgan's personality and enthusiasm remains steady between the gym and the stadium.
"Sydney is great at practice and very enthusiastic," said Iwanicki. "She is very steady as a kicker and I have a lot of confidence in her. I don't have to sweat the small details because she's that good."
