Naked Michigan Driver Cited After Trifecta of Alleged Wrongs

Police chased a naked woman allegedly driving the wrong way, first in her car and then on foot. But that's not all that happened.

A driver in Michigan allegedly got it so wrong early Tuesday morning.

First, police said, she was naked.

Second, she allegedly left her naked husband stranded with their young child at a rest stop.

Third, she was allegedly driving the wrong way on U.S. Highway 127 near Clare. And that’s the alleged wrong that got her in trouble with police, who pursued her – first in a vehicular chase, and then on foot.

Clare County Undersheriff Dwayne Miedzianowski told The Morning Sun the 23-year-old woman and her 32-year-old husband both face charges of child abuse and indecent exposure. Additionally, the woman is charged with fleeing and eluding.

The couple apparently shucked their clothing at the Mackie Rest Stop near Clare before the woman took off without her family. It’s unclear why she left them there, or why the couple were naked.

Clare County Prosecutor Michelle Ambrozaitis authorized the child abuse charges because the young child’s parents allegedly failed to provide for her welfare, Miedzianowski told The Morning Sun.
