New "I Heart Dogs" Shelter Opens As A Safe Haven For Pets Belonging To Domestic Violence Survivors

Shelter Will Host Fundraising Gala In St. Clair Shores, Michigan on Wednesday, April 27, 2016

I Heart Dogs Rescue & Animal Haven recently opened a brand new animal shelter in Warren, MI, at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy. Their mission is to lead the no-kill movement by rescuing, rehabilitating, re-homing and providing a place of refuge for homeless dogs, while also providing a safe haven for the pets belonging to domestic violence survivors. They are part of only three percent of animal shelters throughout the country who provide this service to domestic violence survivors as they flee their abusers.

I Heart Dogs will host the "Pooches on Parade Gala" on Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Barrister Gardens Banquet Center located at 24225 Harper Ave., St. Clair Shores, MI. During the fundraiser, there will be a runway event featuring American military service personnel walking with the shelter's adoptable dogs, a cheer raffle, silent auction, and a special musical performance by the band Escaping Pavement.

Special guest, Lisa Goich-Andreadis, will emcee the event. Goich-Andreadis is an award-winning talk radio host, journalist and former stand-up comedian. She currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband, musician Teddy Andreadis of the band Guns N' Roses, and their four rescue dogs. Goich-Andreadis and her Maltese mix, Angie, work with hospice patients to help make their transition a loving, bonding and peaceful experience.
