Police Blotter: Man Allegedly Points Gun at Swimmers

Man allegedly waves gun at swimmers

A 35-year-old St. Clair Shores man has been arrested and charged with five counts of assault with a dangerous weapon for allegedly pointing a gun July 8 at a group of swimmers at the pool at an apartment complex in the 28100 block of Jefferson.

Jason Dziurgalski is alleged to have approached the pool and asked a group of five people if "they wanted to go hunting." He then allegedly went back to his apartment and returned to the pool, cocking and pointing a gun at the swimmers and asked if they wanted "to go hunting."

The swimmers left the pool and Dziurgalski returned to his apartment. Police were called and he was arrested without incident. Officers searched his apartment and found 17 guns registered to Dziurgalski. 

He was arraigned Monday in 40th District Court before Magistrate Mark Metry, who entered a plea of not guilty for Dziurgalski.

"I have no charges on my record," he told Metry in court.

He is free on $1,000 bond, and is to have no contact with the complainants.
