Red Wings Stars to Skate at Civic

St. Clair Shores Civic Arena will host some of the top goal scorers in the history of the Detroit Red Wings for a fundraiser game tonight for the St. Clair Shores Hockey Association.

The nets at Civic Arena may need to be reinforced, and the goal lamp may have to be replaced, after some of the best scorers in Detroit Red Wings history take the ice tonight for a hockey charity game.

The Red Wings Alumni, led by Hall of Famer Dino Ciccarelli, will take the ice for a charity rematch game against Team GTJ, a Senior "A" Adult Amateur Hockey team sponsored by GTJ Consulting, LLC.

Proceeds from the game will benefit the St. Clair Shores Hockey Association and the regular charitable activities of the GTJ Foundation.

Funds raised during the 2011 game, which included former Red Wing stars Shawn Burr and Jimmy Carson, were donated to The David Livernois Fund.

"Pretty excited to play against a 600-Goal Scoring Hall of Famer in Dino," Brandon T. Johnson, president of the property maintenance company GTJ and the GTJ Foundation, wrote in an email about playing in the game.
