This means an extraordinary amount of baseball, softball, soccer, track, lacrosse, rugby and golf for prep-sports fanatics.

We’ve been working hard to make sure you have an idea of which games to catch this week.

So, let’s get right into the good stuff.

Before we get into the week ahead, let’s take a second to give a shout-out to Lakeview skipper Frank DiCristofaro and his baseball team for putting on a .

Not only did the Huskies advance to the championship, they also hosted five great teams who gave fans a full day of great ballgames.

Now, on to the good stuff for this week.

  • vs. Grosse Pointe North softball, 4:30 p.m. Monday at Lakeview. Two of the top three teams in the Macomb Area Conference White square off in what could prove to be a pivotal game in the division considering the winner keeps pace with division-leading Utica High, while the loser slips one game further back. Pretty important game for early May.
  • vs. L’Anse Creuse baseball, 4 p.m. Wednesday at Lake Shore. The Shorians need division wins to stay in contention in the MAC White (L'Anse Creuse is currently unbeaten while Lake Shore is two games back in the standings). This contest against the Lancers is a great opportunity for the team to do just that this week.
  • vs. Fitzgerald baseball, 6 p.m. Wednesday at Fitzgerald (Chatterton Elementary). The surprise Cavs take their talents to Fitz in a showdown of the top two teams in the MAC Bronze. South Lake is currently one game back of the Spartans in the division. This is a big game for both teams and promises to be a real battle.
