Whiz Kid: Frank Woo

Lakeview valedictorian, who attended Princeton Elementary, now headed to Princeton University

  • Whiz kid’s name: Frank Woo
  • Whiz kid’s age: Just graduated from Lakeview High School
  • Whiz kid’s accomplishment: Valedictorian of the Lakeview High School Class of 2011. Frank received a 33 ACT composite score and will attend Princeton University, majoring in molecular biology. The son of Walter and Rachael Woo, Frank served as concertmaster for the Lakeview Symphony Orchestra, president of the National Honor Society, class treasurer of the Student Council, and captain of both the track & field and cross-country teams. He was an Intel International Science and Engineering Fair Finalist and was an AP Scholar with honors. While attending school, Frank was an active volunteer at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital. Lakeview educators enthusiastically point out that Frank is coming full circle, as he attended Princeton Elementary as a youngster and is now headed to Princeton University.
  • Whiz kid’s key to awesomeness: Frank attributes his success to his mother, who he says pushed him to excel and believed in him even when he didn’t.
