Whiz Kid: Sheridan Brown
Lakeview Salutatorian will pursue a dual degree in music and math at Northwestern University.

- Whiz kid’s name: Sheridan Brown
- Whiz kid’s age: Just graduated from Lakeview High School.
- Whiz kid’s accomplishment: Salutatorian of the Lakeview High School Class of 2011. Sheridan received a 33 ACT composite score and will attend Northwestern University to pursue a dual degree in music and mathematics. The daughter of JoAnn and Dale Brown, Sheridan attended the Macomb Mathematics, Science and Technology Center. She was involved in a multitude extracurricular activities, including dance (serving as an assistant teacher and competition member), concert band (first chair oboist all four years), symphony orchestra, National Honor Society, student council and Team Green. She also served as a volunteer at the St. Clair Shores Public Library and at Relay for Life, and was a holiday dancer at local nursing homes, as well as a pit member of the Lakeview Community Musical Orchestra. Her academic awards include National Merit Commended Scholar, academic letters, and the Assistant Principal Award.
- Whiz kid’s key to awesomeness: “My parents have had the most influence on my academic career,” Sheridan said. “They have always encouraged me to do my best, and their support is what has driven me to try hard in everything I do.”
