City officials say this 75,000-square-foot store will join a new Aldi and a planned second Kroger, marking Taylor’s third new grocery in about a year and expanding access to Michigan-made products. 
• Taylor softball pulls away from Melvindale in late-season non-conference battle (thenewsherald.com) — Taylor High’s softball team rolled past Melvindale 9-2 on Tuesday, powered by a five-run fifth inning and big days from several underclassmen. The Griffins, now riding back-to-back wins, head to Trenton today aiming for a Downriver League sweep before returning home to host Southgate Anderson on Thursday, giving Taylor fans two quick chances to cheer them on.
