• Traverse City pauses West End development, says its own request set the project up to fail (9and10news.com) — Traverse City commissioners have hit pause on redeveloping six West End parcels near West State and Pine, rejecting both finalist proposals and blaming flaws in their own request. Officials now want to resolve tax policy questions and fully analyze the financial impact before deciding how to use the $7.6 million in downtown land, including parking and potential housing options.
• Michigan gas prices spike 28 cents in one week, AAA says (cbsnews.com) — Traverse City currently has some of the lowest average gas prices in Michigan at about $4.22 per gallon, even as statewide prices jumped 28 cents in a week. AAA and analysts say global tensions and oil supply issues are pushing both gasoline and diesel higher, so local drivers should be prepared for continued volatility at the pump.
