No Plans For Former Blockbuster Store
What was the struggling franchise's store on West Road in Woodhaven will remain vacant for the foreseeable future, according to city officials.

Woodhaven city officials said Monday that there are no current plans to replace what once was the Blockbuster Video store on the corner of West Road and Telegraph.
The store was closed two months ago in one of the latest of the nationwide cutbacks for the struggling movie rental franchise.
The rise of movie rental services such as Netflix and DVD Redboxes have caused a tumultous couple of years for Blockbuster who was one of the most famously affected companies from the economic collapse. Blockbuster filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in September 2010.
