• Downriver Area Soroptimists' accepting applications for scholarships (thenewsherald.com) — Trenton high school girls and local women have several chances at meaningful Soroptimist scholarships, including $1,000 awards for student volunteers and up to $3,000 for women pursuing education while supporting families. Applications are open through mid-November and January, and residents can also get involved by attending monthly meetings at the Woodhaven Community Center or supporting the group's foundation online.
