January 22 was the 41st anniversary of the Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton Supreme Court decisions that made abortion legal for all nine months of pregnancy. Hundreds of thousands of people including hundreds who rode buses over night from southeast Michigan assembled in Washington, DC for the annual March for Life to remember the victims of abortion: more than 57 million babies, their mothers and fathers.
On Sunday, two dozen Downriver people braved the falling snow and the windy 16 degrees temperature for the annual March for Life from Our Lady of the Scapular Parish school in Wyandotte to the Mt. Carmel cemetery on Northline Road. They were joined by others who drove and met them at the chapel near the monument for the unborn child placed by the Knights of Columbus more than 20 years ago.

They prayed the prayers of the Rosary followed by a prayer service led by Deacon Luis Flores from St. Frances Cabrini. They prayed for the intentions of the parents who have no living child, for the children, for an end to abortion and for the healing of our nation.
