Boulan Park Students Dedicate Tree to Classmate Who Died in January

Students and staff gathered for a memorial service for 12-year-old Sean Taglione, who died earlier this year.

Students dedicated a tree Thursday morning at  in Troy in the memory of , a 12-year-old student with autism who was killed after being hit by a car earlier this year.

The Troy Education Association has also dedicated a $1,500 scholarship in honor of Sean's memory to Boulan Park ASD students for this year.

Sean, a sixth-grader at Boulan, was  in January and died from his injuries.

"This young man was well known and well liked," Troy schools spokeswoman Kerry Birmingham said in an email to Troy Patch at the time of the accident.
