Cleaning Up After Wiping Out: First Aid for Motorcyclists

Alliance Mobile Health, Oakland County’s premier EMS provider, is hosting “Cleaning Up After Wiping Out: First Aid for Motorcyclists,” a free, informative first aid training course for motorcyclists on Tuesday, May 22 at its Troy station from 7 - 8:30 p.m. The course is designed to train motorcyclists on how to respond to common motorcycle injuries while on the road, as well as educate them on the essential first aid medical supplies needed for a safe ride.

According to Laurie Thiel, CEO of Alliance Mobile Health, the recent repeal of Michigan’s mandatory motorcycle helmet law makes this safety course is even more important for motorcyclists to participate in. Michigan is the 31st state to make wearing a helmet optional.

“There are over 560,000 Michigan residents who are licensed to ride motorcycles in the state,” said Thiel. “Motorcyclists who choose not to wear a helmet will need to be even more prepared on how to prevent and effectively handle minor emergencies.”

“Cleaning Up After Wiping Out: First Aid for Motorcyclists” will be hosted at the Alliance Mobile Health station at 2045 Austin Drive in Troy, Michigan.
