Proper, Purposeful & Powerful Posting on Social Networks

Should I post this on Facebook, would it be better on LinkedIn or should I even post it at all? Am I spending too much time on social networks? My boss keeps asking about the ROI. Find the answers to these questions and more when the Troy Chamber presents “Proper, Purposeful & Powerful Posting on Social Networks,” Tuesday, April 10, 8-9:30 a.m., at Walsh College, 3838 Livernois, Troy (between Big Beaver and Wattles Roads).

This session will look at the purpose of posting on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. Are there unspoken rules users need to know? Why is it important to make your posts valuable and timely? Presenter Brenda Meller, director of marketing for Walsh College, will offer solutions in addition to providing information on the importance of social network ROI and metrics.

“Since many professionals today are balancing personal and professional accounts, it is important to know how to blend them to support your marketing strategy,” said Meller. “It’s not enough for you to know WHAT to post. You also need to know what NOT to share.”

Meller has a BBA in Marketing from Central Michigan University. She frequently speaks on social media through the Walsh College webinar series. Her social media experience includes LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube,
Foursquare, and most recently, mobile sites and QR codes.

“My own use of social media skyrocketed after I found my dream job at Walsh College through LinkedIn,” said Meller. “I am passionate about social media and think you should be, too.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring Wi-Fi enabled laptops or iPads for hands-on instruction. This session will end with a no-holds-barred Q&A.
