Four Detroit Country Day School Seniors Make Official College Athletic Commitments
Talented student athletes announce intentions as part of National Signing Day

Four Detroit Country Day School (DCDS) seniors signed college commitments to play a variety of sports at colleges and universities throughout the country. DCDS Executive Director of Athletics Dan MacLean made the announcement.
“DCDS is committed to developing and supporting well-rounded student athletes, and we are very proud of the incredible accomplishments of our class of 2017 seniors,” said MacLean. “Our students are headed to prestigious universities, where they will take on new academic challenges in addition to training and improving their athletic prowess. We believe that encouraging good sportsmanship, physical fitness and healthy competition are an important part of their future.”

- Cole Bearden, Cornell University, football
- Michaiah D’Alvionne Thomas, University of Michigan, track and field
- Jacqueline Spizizen, Emory University, softball
- Sasha Hartje, Emory University, tennis
