Licensed master social worker Tricia Stehle, will share information on how to identify and prevent bullying including: signs of bullying to look for in a child or adolescent, what is a bully?, how and why certain children and adolescents are targeted, why bullying is particularly bad in the middle school years, how to prevent bullying in schools (including going beyond anti-bullying campaigns), what parents can do to help a child who is being bullied, what educators can do to help the child, options for the child or adolescent when being bullied, information on the epidemic of cyber bullying, long term consequences of being bullied, and why early intervention is so important.
