Big Family of Michigan will host its largest fundraiser of the year on October 16 at the San Marino Club in Troy. The event features dinner and silent and live auctions. All proceeds will support the programs and operations of Big Family of Michigan.
Big Family of Michigan is a nonprofit organization that serves the needs of Michigan’s foster children and young adults through programs that provide the children the chance they deserve for happy, productive lives. The organization began supporting the children in 2000. That year, the organization helped a few dozen children. Big Family of Michigan now helps over 10,000 Michigan children each year. Their goal is not only to support Michigan’s abused and neglected children, but to educate the public and care givers on recognizing and reporting child abuse.
As a nonprofit organization, Big Family of Michigan relies on the generosity of others and grants to implement their programs. Although inventory is received through company donations, school supplies/toy drives, and individual donations, the organization also requires funding to purchase items that the children need and for warehouse operational costs. The October Charity Auction provides that funding.
