May 11, 2015 | Waterford, Mich.- Small businesses and entrepreneurs in metro Detroit are invited to meet with high powered investors and learn how to pitch their business at the Southeast Michigan Venture Roundtable event. “With the rise of crowd funding and venture capital television shows entrepreneurs are more excited than ever to go after funding from places other than banks,” said Tom Sesti, business consultant and founder of Vendita Company. “Our event will teach them where to find those opportunities and how to channel their enthusiasm into attracting investors.”
Michael Brennan leads capital strategies for Macomb-OU and Oakland University Incubators, with a history of securing nearly $200 million in funding for private companies. He is most excited to share with local entrepreneurs what he calls “the art and science of raising capital.”
“Preparing to secure capital is an intensive process,” shared Brennan. “In order to succeed entrepreneurs must closely examine their venture and place priority on building value, rather than focusing on capital as the destination. There are mental, emotional and practical steps that must be taken. I enjoy helping small businesses grow and prosper by coaching them through that process.”
All pre-registered attendees will receive a golf package for four people from On the Dunes Sports in Commerce Township that includes coaching from PGA Golf Pro Doug White and 18 simulated holes.
Entrepreneurs and small businesses of every stage can take charge of their bottom lines by attending the Southeast Michigan Venture Roundtable. Registration is $49 per person, with a $10 discount for Oakland County small businesses that register by May 7.
