Leadership Workshop for Local High School Students

The Troy Athens Bands will host a leadership workshop with nationally acclaimed music educator Fran Kick on May 30 at Athens High School.

On May 30, students in the Troy School District will have the opportunity to hone their leadership skills when nationally acclaimed music educator Fran Kick presents his workshop Teamwork, Music and Leadership. Fran Kick is an educational consultant, author, and leadership authority and has been a guest speaker for numerous bands across the country. The Troy Athens Bands are bringing him to Athens to help students learn to be the best they can be as leaders. At this workshop, participants will learn to lead, follow, and work together as students, musicians, and as future leaders! While Mr. Kick works mainly with musicians, skills learned in his workshops will help any students to positively lead their peers.

The morning workshop will take place in the Athens auditorium from 9:00 am-11:30 am and is open to all Troy School District students as well as students from neighboring districts. For information on registering for this event, visit www.athensband.com. Please register by May 22, 2015.
