Simmons Decorating Den Interiors design business wins international design award
Wixom, MI - Local design professional and business owner Veronica Simmons and her team (www.thesimmonsteam.decoratingden.com) were recently honored to receive a top design award in her company’s international design contest for outstanding design work. The award was presented at Decorating Den Interiors 44th annual conference held recently in Memphis.
Simmons was awarded third prize for her dramatic room makeover in the Home Office category. “The homeowners were looking for a space where they could wind down away from the kids, as well as pay bills and grade papers, since the wife is a teacher. They were open to color, so I wanted to use a little color to liven up the previously dull space,” explains Simmons, owner of Decorating Den Interiors of Wixom, MI.
The homeowners were very pleased with their new space, and had this to say about their experience working with Veronica and The Simmons Team. “Our new office has turned into an oasis in our home. It's rich, vibrant colors set it apart from the rest of the main floor while complimenting the rest of our décor.”
This was the company’s 29th annual International Dream Room awards competition. Judging was done by journalists from across the U.S. and Canada who write about interiors for such publications as Traditional Home, House Beautiful, Design NY, and for national syndication and regional publications.
The Simmons Team was also honored with the company’s Eagle award for cumulative sales.
Decorating Den Interiors’ room makeovers have been featured in such publications as Good Housekeeping, Canadian House and Home, Better Homes and Gardens, Woman’s Day, House Beautiful and House and Garden. In addition, the company has been featured in a variety of design segments on HGTV and The Discovery Channel.
“As North America’s largest interior design and home furnishings franchise company, we represent more than 85 home furnishings suppliers and offer our customers furniture, case goods, accessories, lighting, floor and wall coverings, draperies, and other hard and soft window treatments,” Simmons explains. “We bring samples directly to the client’s home or office and provide complimentary design services and installation.”
