Man Arrested At Troy Walmart With 5-Inch Knife In Pocket: Police

Police said the man spent four hours in the store with the knife in his pocket.

TROY, MI — A Detroit man was arrested at a Troy Walmart after spending over four hours in the store with a five-inch blade, Troy Police said.

The 26-year-old man was arrested and charged with carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent and disturbing the peace, police said.

The incident happened on Nov. 7 at the Walmart on 2001 W. Maple Rd at 6:34 p.m. when store security alerted officers that a man had been in the store for four hours, police said.

Security also told officers that the man "was making guests and employees uncomfortable, and told security next time he may bring a gun to the store," police said.

Officers approached the man and found the knife in his front jacket pocket, police said.

He was then arrested without incident, police said.
