It’s a good thing no one tested that theory about dinnertime Tuesday.

“He kept saying, ‘I know I’m in trouble,’ and, ‘I have $50,000; I’ll give you half.’ ” – Neighbor Roy Habeck

The driver didn’t just hit the wall of the brick house, but drove right through it and landed in the basement.

No one was home at the time. Holly Bielawski said her mother, who owns the house, was “hysterical” when she saw the gaping hole in the side of the house.

“It was very shocking,” Bielawski said. “We didn’t realize it was fully in the basement.”

The man sustained only minor injuries and was taken by police to an area hospital for observation.
