No Evidence of Assault By Troy Senator: Prosecutor
County prosecutor says no evidence Sen. Marty Knollenberg's "painful squeeze" was assault on Oakland County Clerk Lisa Brown.

TROY, MI – State Sen. Marty Knollenberg, R-Troy, won’t face criminal assault charges for allegedly painfully squeezing Oakland County Clerk Lisa Brown’s arm after a county event last month.
Livingston County Prosecutor William Vailliencourt said Tuesday the evidence in the case doesn’t support the charges, The Daily Tribune reports. Vailliencourt was asked to review the case after Oakland County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper recused herself because the allegations involved a county official.

Knollenberg tried to talk Brown as they were leaving the address. When she declined, he reportedly grabbed her arm and refused to release her until others got involved.
Kollenberg said in a statement issued by his attorney that he and his family are “grateful for the decision,” The Daily Tribune reported.
