Sterling Heights Man Struck, Killed Trying To Cross Road: Police

The driver stopped at the scene of the crash and was arrested on unrelated warrants, police said.

STERLING HEIGHTS, MI — A driver was arrested Tuesday morning after fatally striking a man in Sterling Heights, police said.

The 30-year-old man was trying to cross Mound Road between 18 Mile and 18 1/2 Mile roads outside a crosswalk at 6 a.m. when he was struck by an SUV, police said.

The driver of the SUV did stop at the scene and was arrested on unrelated warrants, police said.

Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
