Troy Athens High School Ranked Among Top 500 in Nation
A recent Newsweek ranking of the nation's high schools places Troy Athens as among the best in the country.

A Newsweek ranking of America’s Best High Schools placed Troy’s as sixth highest in the State of Michigan.
The Newsweek rankings – which were announced Monday and placed Athens at 229 nationally – have been released annually for many years. However, the magazine said with its latest release that the rankings were revamped this year to measure a school’s success at turning out college-ready students.
The study, according to Newsweek, comprises:

- graduation rates (25 percent)
- college matriculation rate (25 percent)
- AP tests taken per graduate (25 percent)
- average SAT/ACT scores (10 percent)
- average AP/IB/AICE scores (10 percent)
- AP courses offered (5 percent).
ranked first in the state and 20th in the nation, while Bloomfield Andover ranked second in Michigan and 101st nationwide.
Among the findings, Newsweek states that 98 percent of Athens High School students graduate from high school, and about 95 percent are college-bound.
