The Troy Community Chorus continues its proud tradition with a spring concert to be held at 8 pm on Friday, May 5, at Troy Athens High School (4333 John R. Rd., Troy). Titled “Out of this World,” the Chorus, under the direction of Ms. Mimi Gass (with accompanist Min Soo Chung) will perform themed selections including 'I'd Like To Teach the World to Sing', 'Thankful' (made famous by Josh Groban), Harry Belafonte's 'Turn the World Around', and Louis Armstrong’s classic 'What a Wonderful World.’ Joining the over 50-member ensemble will be their TCC 2017 Scholarship winners Annie Rowbal (Troy High School, Class of 2017) and William Lee (Bloomfield Christian High School, Class of 2019) and Honorary Winner Richard Li (Troy High School, Class of 2020.) “It is so much fun to add youthful voices to our group-- they have a wonderful energy, and we feel it is part of our mission to encourage the vocal arts with our community’s young people,” says Gass. Rowbal will sing “If I Can’t Love Him” from Beauty and the Beast the musical, and Lee will sing “We Are The World.”

Advance tickets are $10 for adults and children (aged 6-61), $8 for Seniors (62+), children 5 and under are free. To reserve tickets, call Linda Irlbacher at 248-953-6195 or email loubirdlinda@gmail.com. Tickets purchased at the door the night of the concert are $15.
