Troy Drunken Driver Arrested With 2 Open Liquor Bottles Inside Car: Cops
Police said the man's preliminary breath test came back with a result of .374 percent, which is nearly five times the legal limit.
TROY, MI — A drunken driver, who had two open Fireball bottles in his car, was arrested after crashing his car while texting at a Troy intersection, police said.
Police said the 36-year-old man from Utica was driving a 2010 Ford Fusion near the intersection of Maple and Livernois roads on Friday, June 23, at 11:46 p.m. when he rear-ended another car.
When officers arrived at the intersection, they found the Fusion with severe front-end damage, police said. Police did not report any injuries in the crash.

The Utica man told officers he was texting when he crashed his car, police said. Officers said the man smelled of alcohol and slurred his speech while talking.
Officers then asked the Utica man to do a series of sobriety tests, all of which he failed, police said.

When officers searched the Fusion, they said they found two open 100-milliliter bottles of Fireball whiskey in the center console, police said.
After medical officials cleared the man from the crash, he then preformed a preliminary breath test that came back with a result of .374 percent, which is nearly five times the legal limit, police said.
Officers arrested the Utica man and placed him in the Troy Police Lock-Up facility, before officials took him to Troy Beaumont Hospital due to his high blood-alcohol level.
The Utica man was given a citation for operating while intoxicated and transporting open intoxicants in a vehicle, police said.
