Corewell Health Announces $1.7 Billion Investment to Build Stronger Healthcare for Michigan (americajr.com) — Corewell Health is planning a massive new eight-story tower at Beaumont Troy Hospital, adding 180 private rooms and a revamped emergency department to ease chronic overcrowding and improve patient flow. Part of a $1.7 billion statewide investment, the Troy project will modernize care, improve access from parking to the ER, and signal long-term confidence in the city's growth when construction begins in 2027.
   

2. Cops say woman drove 100 mph-plus in construction zone while drunk (theoaklandpress.com) — Troy police say they stopped a Sterling Heights woman going over 100 mph through an I-75 construction zone at Coolidge and arrested her on suspicion of drunk driving. Officers report her blood-alcohol levels were above the legal limit, and she now faces citations for operating while intoxicated, open intoxicants, and speeding.
   

3. 'Michigan Deserves Better': Michigan GOP and Indian American Republicans Tell El-Sayed to Leave Usha Vance and Her Children Alone (michigannewssource.com) — Republican leaders and Indian American activists gathered at the Michigan GOP's Troy office to denounce Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed's comments about Usha Vance, calling them racist and misogynistic and urging him to keep families out of political fights. The event also highlighted Troy-area GOP candidates and pressed El-Sayed to denounce a controversial supporter ahead of JD Vance's visit to Michigan.
   

4. Man arraigned in fatal motorcycle crash (candgnews.com) — An Oakland County attorney who works at a Troy law firm has been arraigned in connection with a fatal hit-and-run motorcycle crash in Fraser that killed a Macomb County woman. He faces felony charges for allegedly leaving the scene and misleading investigators, with court dates set in October.
