Troy Holds "Festival of Choirs"

Troy Holds "Festival of Choirs"

The Troy Fine Arts department is excited to announce the annual Festival of Choirs, which will be held at Athens High school (4333 John R. in Troy) over the span of four spectacular nights: January 23-26 @ 7 pm each night.

This annual event is a demonstration of the K-12 vocal program from elementary to high school. This allows students and parents--as well as the community--to see all ages perform and, for our younger students, to look forward to vocal music throughout the various ages and stages of K-12. It is open to all, and each night highlights 5 of our buildings across the district. All of the performances will be held at Athens High School, however both high school choirs will be featured on various nights:

Students are learning pieces with their classes at their individual buildings which they will perform, and each night will end with a finale piece that will feature all of the choirs called "The Rhythm of Life." Other pieces are uplifting songs, both old and new, that will inspire all to reflect on the impact of music from a young age all the way through adulthood.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact hvawter@troy.k12.mi.us.
