Troy Loses to Anchor Bay in Softball Quarterfinals, 9-6
Postseason run comes to an end despite third-inning grand slam by Lindsey Mukomel.
MADISON HEIGHTS – Despite a thrilling grand slam Tuesday from Lindsey Mukomel – a shot over the left field wall that brought to within one run, 7-6, in the third inning – Anchor Bay was simply too much for the young Colts, which bowed out of the state softball tournament.
The 9-6 loss to Anchor Bay brought the 2011 season to an end for Troy High after a magical postseason run that included district and regional championships.
The regional crown was extremely noteworthy given the Colts, which had only two seniors on the roster, had to beat regional favorite Romeo High in the title game Saturday.
