Troy Schools Administrator Survives First Round of Cuts For Grosse Pointe Schools Position

Troy Assistant Superintendent Richard Machesky will be one of three candidates contending for the Grosse Pointe School District's top position.

Richard Machesky, assistant superintendent of secondary education for the , was one of three people selected by the Grosse Pointe Schools Board of Education as a finalist for that district's superintendent position.

School to ask Machesky to return for a second interview.

Machesky, who lived in Grosse Pointe for seven years, emphasized during with board members in Grosse Pointe the importance of being visible in the community.

The next step in the selection process is an introduction to the community slated for July 11 and 12. The board hopes to have a final candidate selected and to begin contract negotiations by July 18.
