TROY, MI — Police have identified and taken into custody the gunman they said attacked a woman Friday in a Troy Target parking lot.

Police said a woman was getting into her car in the parking lot of the Target at 1301 Coolidge Highway at 9:10 p.m. when Andrew Hall, 31, forced her driver's door open and attacked her.

Hall punched the woman numerous times in the face with a closed fist before pulling a handgun from his waistband, police said.

Officers found the woman with injuries to her face.

Police announced early Tuesday evening that Hall, who they considered armed and dangerous, was in custody.

Hall was also wanted in connection with a woman who was killed Tuesday morning in Detroit, police said.

"We believe that he was involved in an attempted abduction last Friday in Troy, now a homicide in Detroit. Both of those incidents involve a female victim," Detroit Police Assistant Chief David LeValley told Fox 2 Detroit.
