Troy Women's Association Awards over $10,000 in Scholarships to Local Women

Troy, MI- The Troy Women’s Association awarded over $10,000 in educational scholarships to four local women at their June membership meeting.

Scholarships were presented to women who demonstrate a commitment to community service and have a financial need. The recipients were selected by a committee who reviewed applicant’s community service and essay.

The 2015 TWA Scholarship Recipients are:

High School Seniors:
• Rebecca Bussa, a Troy Athens High School graduate, received a $2,500 scholarship for Oakland University
• Ellen Zhang, a Troy High School graduate, received a $2,500 scholarship for Harvard University

Adult Women:
• Holly Semma of Troy received a $2,500 scholarship for Michigan State University
• Jennifer Laura of Sterling Heights received a special TWA Donna Smith memorial scholarship in the amount of $3,208.55 for Walsh College
