For our first in-person MLK day since COVID, we were so happy to see folks who remembered what an incredible event it was, and see so many new faces as well!
We began the day with a delicious breakfast for all, then migrated to the auditorium where master of ceremonies Fox2 anchor (and Troy High alum) Roop Raj shared his story of background in the news industry; Superintendent Dr. Rich Machesky and City of Troy Mayor shared the podium to celebrate the strong partnership between our city and schools; and Black students from our district shared their stories and award-winning essays that addressed the question: MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. ONCE SAID, "THE TIME IS ALWAYS RIGHT TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT"
After the inspiring presentations, attendees went into the gymnasium where service projects were set up. By the numbers:

Suffice it to say, today was an amazing display of care and personal generosity, and such a great partnership with the City of Troy as well. Thanks for helping us spread the good news.
