When to Expect Power to Be Fully Restored in Troy

About 4,000 homes and businesses in Troy are still without power after a fire at a substation Thursday morning. Initially, about 10,000 customers were affected.

DTE Energy said power should be restored to all customers by late evening Friday, city officials said in a statement.

The City of Troy civic campus is without power today. Closures include Troy City Hall, Troy Community Center, Troy Library and Troy Family Aquatic Center. The 52-4 District Court is also closed.

The Troy Police Department, Troy Fire Department and Department of Public Works remain open.

Water and ice are being distributed to residents in need at the Troy Police Department, 500 W. Big Beaver Road, Troy, starting at 10 a.m. Friday. DTE has provided two ice trucks and 3,000 cases of water for distribution. DTE engineers are also on hand to answer residents’ questions.

The Troy Police Department has doubled patrol staffing to address power outage related issues. Police officers are providing extra patrol to areas without power. There was not a significant increase in police calls for service as a result of the outage during the overnight hours, the city said.

A cooling center for affected residents is located at Woodside Bible Church, 6600 Rochester Road, Troy.
