Yin Yoga & Meditation at Troy Fit Zone
Special Class in honor of September being National Yoga month!
Friday, September 26th 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Yin Yoga has the same goals and objectives as any other school of yoga; however, it directs the stimulation normally created in the asana portion of the practice deeper than the superficial or muscular tissues. Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine.
A class focus of meditation will be paired with the yin style to leave you feeling balanced & relaxed. Please wear clothing that is comfortable to perform seated poses in (as yin yoga focuses mostly on seated or lying positions). Also, you may want to bring things like a blanket, pillow, eye pillow or other items that will assist you in your practice. Of course, bring your mat as well! If you’re new to yoga & don’t have a mat we’re happy to have you use one of oursJ.
* Minimum of 6 Pre-Registered Participants must be signed up by Thursday, September 24th for the class to be held. Please see the sign-up sheet at the front desk. IF you are not currently a member of Troy Fit Zone we welcome you to our women’s only gym for this class. Please call the gym at 248-526-0364 so that we can register you for the yin yoga class.

**We thought it would be nice to honor the practice of yoga by letting each participate know if they would like to make a $5 donation the gym will be donating the funds to a local charity called “A Beautiful Me”.
